Okay when I read the first Holiday Montana book I had no idea what I was getting into. It was dark and a bit dangerous and although it ended on Halloween I was still a bit slow on the uptake. Then I got Santa's Executive and peppermint sticks! This book took me by freaking surprise.
There are sinister forces at work to keep Justin Cooper from his true purpose in the old fashioned town of Holiday. If Rina can help him, they can bring joy back to all who need it during the holidays. The sinister force wants more than the spirit of Christmas to fail.
The characters are a little cookie cutter for me. The giggly elf. Anyone with the power of Christmas magic having a sweet tooth. Evil hiding in the crystals of ice. With that said the situation fits this particular series perfectly.
There are two reasons I'm giving this book 4 stars. 1 - This story is incongruous to Charmed Spirits. I had no clue of the town's ... proclivity. Because of that, it took me a while to get into Justin's dilemma.
2 - I felt like I was reading the script of a Hallmark Christmas movie. But this one was found on HBO. I had no issues with the naughty bits but everything else didn't seem to support the adult theme. If bringing joy to Holiday included bringing joy to adults I don't believe I would have felt uncomfortable. All of the Christmas magic centered around children and then the adults around them went home and had sex. Eeewww.
If I didn't feel like the guy whose name is at the end of every single Hallmark move would come out and sue Ms. Ryan I would have relaxed more.
It's a sweet story when it should have been sexy story with sweet details. I liked it?

Santa Executive Carrie Ann Ryan 9781623220150 Books Reviews

Justin and Rina out of all the Holiday stories I wondered how Ms Ryan would spin the Santa Claus one, This was definitely a good way to tell the story. I loved Justine and Rina the elf and one of Santa's Executives definitely makes for an interesting couple. This book had humor and hotness and Christmas cookies all in one.
I read the first book in this series 'Charmed Spirits' and found the characters to be intriguing if lacking some depth but I found the storyline charming and could see a lot of potential. Being as I am not primarily a romance reader I decided to give the second book "Santa's Executive" a shot because I thought it had an even more intriguing sounding plot. I was correct; the plot is utterly adorable. An elf makes contact an elementary school principal and tells him he is to be one of Santa's executives. When I found out that Jack Frost was the nemesis I was completely enraptured. However the book falls into the same traps as the first book did. The story is far too short and the characters are one dimensional. The author failed to really give the story the attention it deserved and the story ended up being disappointing. I will likely not read more books in this series. I'd love to see another author take a crack at writing a similar themed novel. Lost potential makes me sad.
I read the first Holiday, Montana story (Charmed Spirits) and it didn't suit me. I was interested in the Christmas theme in this story, so I gave it a try. It has a lot of great reviews and I generally agree with the reviewers. Not with the Holiday, Montana series, though.

The Christmas-related stuff is very cute. I loved the heroine's adorable personality -- for the most part. As with the heroine in the first book, I found this cute elven heroine kind of weak. Doormat weak. I tend to prefer female characters like those in Shelly Laurenston's books. That's more my idea of confident and independent. In the Holiday, Montana series the traits of confidence and independence seem to be confused with being all alone followed by interdependent. That's just an opinion and, obviously, not a common one. )

Carrie Ann Ryan is a fun author with neat ideas, but the wording in some of her sentences is awkward. It varies from novel to novel, but I noticed it several times in this title. Also, her characters laugh hysterically at some fairly tame, not-so-hilarious jokes. I only mention it because I noticed it in the previous book and again in this one. The reactions seemed a bit too much. A little loony, actually. It did make me laugh, but not in the way intended. There are occasionally very silly statements and similes, too. Even for light, casual reading.

My final "issue" did not influence my rating because I don't think it changed the book's quality. It's a personal preference issue that I'm providing as a "heads up". The anal stuff is not my favorite, especially when it involves fingers or tongues. This book only had fingers involved, but the first one described a brief oral/anal scene. For whatever reason (mostly hygiene, I think) this doesn't do it for me. Again, that's just me and doesn't influence how I feel about the book or series as a whole. I've read other novels with anal and, while the specific scenes did nothing for me, I still loved the characters and books.
Justin cooper loved being a elementary principal. He wanted to find someone to date or more but there was no one in holiday to spark his interest Abby and Allison were great and taken until his phone rings and this perky voice on the other end.

Ring Brewer his new trainer for the job her has to take over Santa being an elf has its down side perky, happy, and the giggling. When she calls and he hangs up she that he has no clue.

“holy peppermint balls! Someone had really dropped the ball on this one. How could they not tell him he was going to be one of Santa’s executives?

Being the first woman trainer was never heard of but someone was against Justin taking his place.

When a for trying to put a crimp in all they work for?

Can they make the season magical………..

Another great book from carrie ann i have fallen in love with this author and cant wait to read more.....
