This book comes across as written more by someone who is either not overly literate with English as a first language, or has English as a second language. It also makes no note of what the "two best comfort foods" are that it's supposed to be promoting. The ingredients lists are the giveaway on the literacy in English. "1/4th," "1/16th," and similar are sprinkled liberally throughout the book. The jar recipes are not what you would expect as traditional jar recipes, in that you layer dry ingredients in a mason jar and add a tag with directions on how to finish making up the mix. These are actual made in the jar as you go recipes, and some make very little sense, such as the dinner rolls. I'm still trying to figure out why you would make your dough into balls and place each ball into its own jar to bake. There is also no mention in the jar recipes section on the necessity of using wide-mouth mason jars if you are going to do as the author apparently intends, and bake in the jar, if you hope to get the baked goods out of the jar in one piece. Best used by experienced cooks only, in order that the cook can decipher things.Product details
