5 Stars!!!

This book was outstanding. I love cowboys and Kellan is the picture perfect version of a cowboy. This book held my attention from the first page. Kellan, sweet, Kellan and Amy, damaged, Amy. It seems a typical story but this is not the case.

Kellan and Amy are attracted to one another instantly. Amy can’t get enough of Kellan and neither of them wants a relationship. Oh they fix the issue and only complicate things and make something’s worse. Kellan is a man carrying a lot of guilt and hurt in his life. The family dynamic he comes from is crazy mess up. He is not who he appears to be and we have a mystery. The mystery keeps you on the edge of your seat is very well written and flowed perfectly. Poor Amy has a rough go of things but through it she comes out this strong beautiful woman. A woman Kellan wants. Amy and Kellan both struggle with deep family issues.

The raw emotions in this book will make you feel right along with the characters. I felt love, heartbreak, extreme sadness, extreme happiness and so much joy. The book is very angsty like scratch you nails down the screen of your kindle angsty. But our couple work through it. (thank God) This book covers the deep issues of mental illness, family drug abuse, foster care and total family dysfunction. I absolutely love the secondary characters we are introduced to; Amy’s sisters Rachel and Jenna, Vaughn, Lisa, Chris, Matt, Jake and the whole town of Catcher Creek. They make the story fell so complete.

This is my third Melissa Cutler book in the last few days. That’s how good her writing is. I wanted to absorb the whole series in one setting. The story had an amazing flow you really did not know what was going to happen on the next page. I am hoping we will see more from the Catcher Creek Series.

Each story can be read as a stand-alone book with an HEA but to get the whole effect you should read them in order to understand the dynamics of the family. I would highly recommend this book, as well as, the entire series. If you love hot alpha cowboys, plenty of mystery and angst then this is the series for you.

Quotes:

Kellan’s kisses didn’t feel like expressions of simple, uncomplicated lust. His touches and looks were laced with desire that ran deep, straight to the core of Amy’s being.

She’d learned the hard way that blood ties weren’t a coat to shed when they became inconvenient or painful. Family was forever, no matter how often or how desperately one wished otherwise.

Love involved constancy, yes, but so much more. Love was not so much about harmony, but about the fight to hold on to it, no matter what. Even when it hurt. Amy and her sisters had taught him that what mattered most about love was its ferocity.

Real love was the fusion of two people’s flaws and strengths, sitting atop the rubble of their past, cemented by the hopes for their future. It was humor and steadfastness and a little bit of magic. It was a creation stronger and more durable than either person had been alone.

He wanted to brand her being with his love. – Kellan

Their bodies breathed into each other, bound in an intimacy more powerful than Kellan had thought possible with another human being. Eye to Eye, belly to belly, heart to heart. – Kellan

The Trouble with Cowboys Catcher Creek Melissa Cutler Books Reviews

I loved Kellan and Amy's story! I was a bit concerned at first that Amy was going to come off as a slut because it seemed like she was willing to sleep with any cowboy as long as he was a cowboy, but her character grew as the story went on, and she realized she was attracted to Kellan because he was Kellan, not because of some fantasy. Kellan's sexy dialogue was great and the sex scenes were well written ---and yes, they were a tad graphic, but not porny. Once Kellan realized Amy had been taken advantage of by a man who pretended to be a cowboy, he stopped playing into her fantasy and realized he wanted to be more to her than just a sexual plaything. Excellent writing and I can't wait to read Rachel and Vaughn's story due out in October, so much so I pre-ordered it! Here's hoping Cutler is busy writing Jenna's story AND Jake's story).

Great job, Melissa!
Great story showing the lead female character has a backbone. Chef Amy Sorentino was deliberately sabotaged on a reality tv show and the camera caught her melt-down. She has returned to her hometown to help save the family ranch since she did not win the contest.
Believable characters, dialogue and story line.
Amy is attempting to purchase produce at the local store
Cringing, Amy poked at the bag. "Fine. Give me everything you've got."
The woman in line cleared her throat again, followed by a muttered "Those Sorentinos..."
This time, Amy,whipped around. "Is there something you want to say about my family?"
The woman's eyes widened in shock and, Amy liked to think, a healthy does of fear. 'Yeah, that's right. Don't mess with a Sorentino. I might go all crazy on your ##%%.

I may re-read this story and look forward to more by this author.
Kellan and Amy have a very "hot" beginning and it keeps going on. This book has it all-friendship, sisterly love, male bonding, forgiveness, family drama, a few laughs, a mystery or two, and even death.
This author did a good job giving the readers the back story of both Kellan and Amy. Reading about their past and upbringing, really explained both characters well. At first, I was shocked that Amy would just jump right into bed with Kellan, like she had no respect for herself. But as I read on, I understood Amy's actions.
I liked reading about Kellan's strong friendships and his very rocky relationships with both with mom and brother.
Amy and her sisters are all very different, but have a extremely close bond. I was crying with them at their mother's bedside. I could understood when Amy said, she had been preparing for a year for her mother's death, and yet she was not ready to let her mother go. I felt the exact same way, as I just recently lost my mother.
I want to read more about the sisters and this small NM town with its hot cowboys!
I rate it 4.75.
Amy has a thing for cowboys but that only led her to heartbreak and her number one rule was No Cowboys. Then she met Kellan Reed and she broke that rule almost immediately. Her family had enough problems she didn't have time for a relationship.
Kellan didn't do relationships sure somewhere down the road he wanted to find a wife but he wanted someone that didn't have any drama in her life not someone like Amy Sorrento, except he couldn't seem to get her out of his heads. Kellan has more than one reason for staying away from Amy.
Watching these two navigate around a relationship kept me reading and not wanting to put this book down until the end. I loved reading about the ups and downs they went through and how things that happened through their lives had made them into who they were. Through their journey of discovery that sometimes things happen but not always are quite how they seem they learn about how relationship can be better once you let them be. I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading the next book.
